It has been said that when a believer is baptized, they are immediately ordained into the ministry. You might say that upon baptism, you have received your B.S. degree (Baptized to Serve).Antonio Medina. Navajo.
The prevailing misconception that has pervaded the church for
centuries is that the work of ministry is for the “professionals,” or
the clergy. Perhaps you have thought to yourself, Well, isn’t that

this mistaken belief when he essentially said that the pastoral staff, or
the clergy, is there to educate and equip the congregation so the
congregation can do the work of ministry in the church.
God has not only given spiritual gifts to every believer in the church
(see 1 Peter 4:10), but He has also prepared work for each believer to
do in the church (see Ephesians 2:10), and every member should share
in the workload (see Ephesians 4:16). Serving in the church is the privilege and responsibility of every church member; it was never designed to be the option of every member.
Part of our personal and corporate growth into mature believers is
intertwined with our commitment to serve in the church. By being
committed to serving in your local church, you are not only contributing
to your own personal growth as a believer, but you are also contributing
to the growth of your church corporately. You are God’s gift to your
church.
